Updated: Jun 15, 2020
Bone broth is a great source of collagen and essential nutrients. The benefits are numerous and extensive.
The broth is recognised for it’s healing effect on the gut and it’s ability to reduce inflammation in the body which can lead to boosting the immune system and improving joint health. Essential nutrients also support digestive and brain health.
There is no doubt here, bone broth makes a great everyday addition to your diet! Drink as a broth or use as a stock when making casseroles and soups.
Bone Broth
1 x chicken carcass
2 or 3 Giblets
2 Chicken Necks
1 x onion peeled and cut in half
1 x stick of celery cut in half,
1 bunch of parsley
1 x bay leaf.
1 tsp apple cider vinegar and cover with water.
Place all ingredients in a large saucepan or slow cooker. Cook for as long as possible to allow minerals to leach into the broth (around 24 hours in slow cooker) or 3-4 hours on top of stove. Top with water if necessary.
Enjoy!
